Overview:
Create and plan an installation artwork using the Touchdesigner.
Problem:
I did not have any coding experience at that time. Some simple functions such as automatically converting the text into the upper case are challenging to me.
Solutions:
I have used the stupidest method but doable which is to manually create a command for every condition, for example "[white space]a" will be converted to "[no white space]A". The idea clearly comes from Matrix's calling code, but instead, it is falling into words in my artwork. This installation artwork is to let people type in something they want to say to someone maybe already pass away. My purpose is to let them show their grief like raining and find support from others. My ultimate plan is to show every line of sentence on an LED strip light, stick all those strips on the ceiling and let them fall naturally. As a room full of light strips that continuously sparkle from top to bottom, it can give an immersive feeling to the visitor.
